WHO CAN APPLY?
Applicants graduating in their 4th year of high school and entering an accredited college or university in a health science field of study.
These scholarships are only open to students from Secondary schools in Belleville, through their Guidance Departments. One recipient from each of the area high schools will receive $5,000.
HOW TO APPLY?
Complete the application form in PDF or in microsoft word and return to your Guidance Department along a 500-word essay describing why they wish to work in health care and stating their career aspirations.
JUDGING CRITERIA
Applications are judged on academic record, community involvement, extracurricular activities and the 500 word essay.
PAYMENT
The award money will be paid in one installment, to the successful candidate’s accredited school of choice. Students are to provide proof of registration from the school they are attending, in the agreed upon program prior to the release of the scholarship.
DEADLINE
Applications must be received by your Guidance office by
February 10, 2012.
Applications received after that date will NOT be accepted.
The individual schools will select the successful candidate(s) and forward the name(s) to our committee by February 24, 2012. Our committee will then interview the candidates to confirm that the qualifying criteria have been met to our satisfaction.
The awards ceremony will take place March 14, 2012 at a regular season Belleville Bull's game. Recipients will be notified by the Medigas Driving Dreams For Our Youth Scholarship Committee.
